Savlon Celebrates World Handwash Day 2017

Savlon, the renowned brand of ACI Ltd. celebrated World Hand Washing Day 2017. For the purpose of increasing worldwide hand washing habit and awareness, every year the day of 15th of October is celebrated with various related curriculums. The slogan for this year’s campaign was ‘Clean hands, for a beautiful future’.

Savlon organized many awareness related campaigns every year and exercises especially on children health conscious. Savlon has arranged a huge ‘World Hand Wash Day Rally’ jointly with the Department of Public Health Engineering (DPHE) of the Government of Bangladesh. They have distributed hand washing soap and other elements to the general people.

The program was inaugurated by Mr. Abdul Malek, Secretary of Local Government & Engineering Department (LGED) in presence of 600 students from different universities. Mr.Edward Big Bedder, the Bangladesh representative of UNICEF, was also present as the Special Guest of the event.

Savlon has been working with Development Organization of Rural Poor (DORP) jointly in the field level for the last two years across the country. As a result of the collective efforts, this year we have observed 40 schools and 10 Union Councils from five sub districts participated in the event of World Hand Washing day 2017.

Moreover, Savlon taught more than 3,000 students from different schools - how to wash their hands perfectly and stay clean. Not only washing hands, the students awareness towards keeping the environment clean was increased. Savlon is looking forward to do such events throughout the month for a better future and healthier Bangladesh.
