Payra Port Authority and ACI Foods Limited Signs Official Agreement to Cultivate 200+ Acres of Land in Payra Port to Ensure Food Security as Per Honourable PM’s Directives.
On 6th November 2022, ACI Foods Limited has signed a lease agreement with the second largest port authority of the country, “Payra Port Authority”. According to the directives of the Honourable Prime Minister, to ensure food security of the country and make the country self-sufficient in food production, no land should be left uncultivated in Bangladesh. As per this directive - ACI Foods Limited and the Payra Port Authority joined hands to cultivate the unused lands under the jurisdiction of Payra Port’s acquired lands (Initially starting with 200 acres which will be gradually expanded to over 1500 acres).
ACI Foods Limited is the first corporate company to sign any such agreement with The Payra Port Authority. Under this agreement, the Payra Port Authority has allowed ACI Foods Limited to use the land at Dhankhali for any kind of agricultural purposes to meet food scarcity of Bangladesh & develop the life of the local marginal farmers.
The event was adorned by the Honorable Chairman, Payra Port Authority, Rear Admiral Mohammad Sohail, (TAS), NUP, PPM, PSC, BN. The agreement was signed by Commodore Rajib Tripura (E), NDC, PSC, BN, Member (Engineering and development), Payra Port Authority and Ms. Faria Yasmin, Business Director, ACI Foods & Commodity Businesses on behalf of their respective organizations. Other high officials of both organizations were also present at the agreement signing ceremony.
