Freedom Sanitary Napkin Outstanding Women Awards 2020
As one of the pioneer Bangladeshi brands for women empowerment, Freedom celebrates International Women’s Day each year paying respect and upholding the contributions of women in the society. On 8th March, on the occasion of International Women’s Day 2020, Freedom organized a grand event named ‘Freedom Sanitary Napkin Outstanding Women Awards 2020’ at ACI Center. The core purpose of this event is to inspire the women of the country through the recognition of the women who have shown a promising and outstanding performance in their respective fields. Eight inspiring women were awarded for the remarkable contributions in their professions.
The awardees are:
- Medical Science: Dr. Sameena Chowdhury, President of Obstetrical and Gynecological Society of Bangladesh
- Social Service: Syeda Rizwana Hasan, Chief Executive of Bangladesh Environment Lawyers Association
- Entrepreneurship: Afroza Begum, Managing Director, Khan’s Kitchen
- Education: Asma Sultana, Head Teacher, Islamia Govt Primary School
- Corporate: Sharmin Sultan, Director, Human Resources, BRAC International
- Sports: Shirin Akter, Sprinter
- Fashion: Peya Jannatul, Model
- Music: Nazmun Munira Nancy, Singer
Dr. Rubana Huq, President of BGMEA was present at the ceremony as the Chief Guest. Mr. Syed Alamgir, Managing Director of ACI Consumer Brands, delivered his valuable speech at the event emphasizing the contributions of women in the society and economy. Executive Director of Finance and Planning, Mr. Pradip Kar Chowdhury, Business Director of Consumer Brands, Md. Quamrul Hassan and Marketing Manager, Khandaker Ishtiak Ahmed were present in the event.
The event received extensive media coverage in all major national dailies, TV channels and radio stations. More than 500 female professionals from different sectors participated in the event. At the very end of the ceremony, a cultural program was held to entertain the guests and awardees. Freedom hopes that witnessing the recognition of country’s women role models will inspire the young women leaders of Bangladesh.
