Fair on Humayun’s birthday
A fair will be arranged in the city on Monday, to mark the 70th birth anniversary of Humayun Ahmed, a litterateur of the country.
Arranged by Channel I and sponsored by ACI Pure Salt, the fair will be inaugurated by prominent artistes of the country at 03:05 on the day on the premises of channel I building in the capital’s Tejgaon area.
This was disclosed at a press conference held at channel i conference room on Saturday.
Channel i Managing Director Faridur Reza Sagar, ACI Salt Managing Director Syed Alamgir, singer Salim Chowdhury, among others were present on the occasion.
Humayun Ahmed was born at Kutubpur in Netrakona on November 13 in 1948. He studied chemistry at the Dhaka University and later taught chemistry in his alma mater. He emerged in the Bengali literary world in the early 1970s.
In recognition of his versified contributions to the society, Humayun was awarded Ekushey Padak, National Film Award, Lekhak Shibir Prize, Bangla Academy Award, Shishu Academy Award, Jainul Abedin Gold Medal, Michael Madhusudan Medal, Bacsas Prize, Humayun Qadir Memorial Prize and ShellTec Award.
